Kids Fishing with First Responders
Grab the kids and your fishing gear and join us for a “fin-tastic” day of fishing and fun at our Annual Fishing with First Responders, a FREE Fishing Derby for kids! This exciting event is casting the net to bring smiles to young faces and create unforgettable memories.
Date: Saturday, August 16, 2025
Times: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Due to the size of the lake limiting how many children can fish safely, each of the following time slots is open to the first 100 children. Registrations are first-come-first-serve, so don’t wait to sign up. Once the time slot is full, it’s closed for future registrations.
- 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
- 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This FREE fishing derby is exclusively designed for children from ages 0 to 15, providing them with a unique opportunity to experience the joys of fishing in a safe and supportive environment. The pond will be stocked with over 400 catfish, and there will be some Giveaways for the kids during the event, too!
Your professional firefighters and police will be on hand to ensure everyone’s safety and provide guidance and assistance to budding anglers throughout the event. From casting techniques to knot tying, we’ll share our expertise and passion for fishing, helping your youngsters learn valuable skills while having a blast.
But that’s not all! Beyond the thrill of fishing, there will be plenty of family-friendly activities to enjoy, including snacks and BBQ throughout the day, ensuring your young anglers stay energized and hydrated during their fishing adventures.
Registration is Required!
STEP ONE: Please sign the initial Signup Form, which includes the Release Waiver for the event. This step is required for all participants and must be completed before your spot can be reserved.
STEP TWO: Register your child from ages 0-15 for your desired fishing derby time slot. (First-come-first-serve. Once a time slot is full, it will be closed to further signups.)
