The United Nations estimates that a child dies every 6 seconds because of hunger and related causes, and that 15.3 million children under 18 in the United States live in households where they’re unable to consistently access enough nutritious food needed for a healthy life. In partnership with Kids Against Hunger® of St. Peters, the CCFR Community Outreach is “feeding families around the world…and around the corner.” For more information about Kids for Hunger, visit www.kidsagainsthunger.org
No child should go hungry. During the school week, our local schools provide free or reduced-price lunches to children in need, but there is still a very real need for these children to have a healthy lunch on the weekends. That’s where the CCFR Community Outreach steps in to provide weekend meals, ensuring their weekend is not spent being hungry or malnourished.
The CCFR Community Outreach has supported the St. Peters Senior Center’s Meals on Wheels program for over a decade, personally delivering nearly 8,000 hot meals to home bound senior citizens and providing over $100,000 in continued financial support through our annual Trivia Night Fundraiser.
