No child should go hungry. During the school week, our local schools provide free or reduced-price lunches to children in need, but there is still a very real need for these children to have a healthy lunch on the weekends. That’s where the CCFR Community Outreach steps in to provide weekend meals, ensuring their weekend is not spent being hungry or malnourished.
For several years now, CCFR Community Outreach has participated in the Big Kahuna Bartender Challenge, a fundraiser to support Community Living. Serving over 1,100 children, adults, and their families, Community Living is a local non-profit that works to enrich the lives of people with disabilities so they can achieve their highest potential. As we’re out in the community and see a need, we meet it. Handicap ramps, fixing/replacing heaters in winter, helping flood/Fire victims with recovery, groceries for the single mom struggling to make ends meet, whatever the need we’re looking for the solution.
Utilizing our specialized BBQ trailer, we regularly cater to the residents of our senior communities and extend our services to support numerous charitable endeavors year-round. From supplying delectable fare for events such as the Fort Zumwalt Grad Night Golf Tournament fundraiser to aiding various charitable organizations, our team is committed to working together to support our community.
Over 1700 people attended our 2019 Hunt, where we gave away over 10,000 eggs. This free event is open to the community and serves to build strong relationships with the residents we serve.
Every Christmas, we support area children by serving as a collection point for community donations of Christmas presents. In addition to the Toys-for-Tats event where we collect toys, Santa makes a visit to the firehouse for pictures and a visit with children and their families. We accept new, unwrapped toys to be donated to the Foster Adoption Support Team (FAST). Fast supports over 300 foster/adoptive children throughout St. Charles county. We also adopt area families, providing Christmas presents for the the children and a meal for the family for Christmas day. To support this cause with a financial donation, please donate below.
The CCFR Community Outreach has supported the St. Peters Senior Center’s Meals on Wheels program for over a decade, personally delivering nearly 8,000 hot meals to home bound senior citizens and providing over $100,000 in continued financial support through our annual Trivia Night Fundraiser. F.A.S.T. provides support and resources for families of children in foster care in St. Charles county, and we partner with a local business - Permanent Vacation Tattoo - to provide an estimated $6,000 in toys every year. No child should have to go without a coat! Working with the elementary schools in our fire district to identify children in need of cold-weather clothing, we meet the need…no matter the number of kids needing help.
Not a handout – a hand up. Partnering with our local schools to identify families in need, we adopt six families (one per station) to make their Christmas brighter. Toys, clothes, food, utility bills paid, whatever we can do to help ease the burden.
